The light Morocco
gives the world

TIZIRI — moonlight in Tamazight — was born from a simple belief: that the finest oils in the world deserve to be known. For centuries, the Amazigh people of southern Morocco's Souss-Massa valley have hand-harvested argan fruit and cold-pressed its kernels into one of the rarest, most nutrient-dense oils on earth.

"The argan tree exists nowhere else on earth. It grows in the stones of the Anti-Atlas, tended by women who have passed down the craft for generations."

We source exclusively from female-led Amazigh cooperatives — communities who own their harvest, set their own prices, and pass the knowledge to their daughters. Every bottle of TIZIRI is a direct line from those hands to yours.

Our name is written in Tifinagh — the ancient script of the Berber people, officially recognised by Morocco since 2003. We carry that script on every label because the people behind this oil deserve to be named in their own language.

The Amazigh
Cooperatives

The argan tree — Argania spinosa — grows only in a 800,000 hectare biosphere in southwestern Morocco. UNESCO designated this region a World Biosphere Reserve in 1998. The tree itself can live for 200 years. Its fruit, harvested once a year, yields a kernel containing one of nature's most remarkable oils.

For centuries this harvest has been the work of Amazigh women. The process of cracking each kernel by hand — two stones, one precise strike — cannot be mechanised. A single litre of argan oil requires the manual cracking of approximately 30kg of fruit. It is one of the most labour-intensive food products on earth.

TIZIRI works directly with female-led cooperatives in the Souss-Massa region — organisations that are owned and governed by the women who do the work. We pay above market price, we provide traceability from cooperative to customer, and we name the communities behind each batch.

01
Direct Sourcing
No brokers, no intermediaries. We buy directly from the cooperative at a price negotiated with the women who set it.
02
Full Traceability
Every TIZIRI product carries a batch reference traceable to the cooperative and harvest season it came from.
03
Cultural Respect
Our brand uses the Tifinagh script — the indigenous writing of the Amazigh people — on every label. Their language, their culture, their name.
"The argan tree is the Amazigh tree. It belongs to us the way the mountains belong to us."
The women of the Souss-Massa cooperatives have been pressing argan oil for generations. TIZIRI exists to bring their work to the world — and to make sure they are paid and credited for it.
Amazigh Cooperative Sourcing All TIZIRI argan oil is sourced from female-led cooperatives in the UNESCO Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve, Souss-Massa, Morocco.
⵿
UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve The Arganeraie — home of the argan tree — has been a protected UNESCO biosphere since 1998, covering 2.5 million hectares of southwest Morocco.
